UMN Health Professional School Expo 
  • Weds, March 30 from 10am – 4pm  Hosted virtually in Handshake Student Registration Open Now

The Health Professional School Expo will give pre-health students the chance to network with admissions representatives from medical schools and other health science schools around the country! Registered schools will set their schedules during the 10am – 4pm window with a mix of group sessions (like an information session about their programs) and one-on-one appointment slots. Students can build their own personalized schedule for the event in Handshake!

Student Parent HELP Center

The Student Parent HELP Center has a wonderful opportunity for work-study eligible undergrads interested in child and family related careers, psychology and sociology related careers and who are in those related majors. (Those with unrelated majors should not apply). Strong candidates will be Freshman through Jr status with at least 2 years to graduation.

This is an entry level career/resume building UG Student Employee position supervised by masters level social workers and family social science staff and involves working with pregnant and parenting U of M students.

We are hoping the start date would be April for training, with an option for summer hours and continuing on through the 22-23 academic year. Hours needed are 16 to 20 per week.All interested candidates MUST APPLY THROUGH THE U O MN JOB CENTER SITE. They may find the position by using JO # 346086

The Nonprofit Scholarship

Do you have a dream of working in the nonprofit world? Are you passionate about raising funds for a worthy cause? If so, the Nonprofit Scholarship may help you reach that goal. The Nonprofit Scholarship (up to $2,000.00 award) recognizes and supports students who have a passion for nonprofit work that makes the world a better place. This scholarship honors the lifelong work of Robert Burgett, an inspiring example of genuine care, leadership, and commitment to the nonprofit sector as the Senior Vice President of Development at the University of Minnesota Foundation. 

Applications for the scholarship are encouraged from students in all UMTC undergraduate colleges. This undergraduate scholarship is awarded to current University of Minnesota Twin Cities juniors and seniors who have demonstrated a dedicated commitment to nonprofit work, strong academic history, and financial need. Preference is given to students with an interest in fundraising.

Mass Shooting Database Organization looking for new members

Hello!  My name is Emmaline Taylor, and I am the Executive Director of Mass Shooting Database. We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose goal is to create a comprehensive database of mass shootings in the United States. 

We currently have 33 volunteers and interns, most of whom are college and university students from across the country, and are looking for more individuals who would like to help with many different aspects of our project (graphic design, data entry, computer science, fact checking, research, social media, etc.)
