Congrats with finishing your classes and good luck with finals! This will be the last newletter of the semester and my last letter from me (Clare) as your peer adviser. I want to thank all of you for making my time as a peer adviser so wonderful.

Career Conversations for BIPOC Students
  • May 3rd at 2pm in the CLA Career Services Office and on zoom

Join CLA Career Services and Mercedes, a Senior Strategic Sourcing Professional at Target, to talk about transitioning from college into a job as a person of color. We will talk about topics including working at a predominantly white organization, being a token in the workplace, and finding your voice amongst the many.

We will have light snacks and career coaches will be there after the event if you have any questions about your job search and transition into the workplace.

Want to join the UMN Libraries Student Advisory Board?

We are recruiting students to join for the 2023-2024 school year. Board members represent the student body and share feedback on library spaces, collections, and services. Board members also work with librarians and library staff on student outreach projects. We will recruit and interview virtually in spring and the Board will start meeting in the fall. Board members receive a $500 stipend. Apply today!

Bell Museum Hiring: Bell Museum Grand Rapids Summer Camp Coordinator Assistant

The Bell museum is hiring a Grand Rapids Summer Camp Coordinator Assistant. The Camp Coordinator is responsible for supporting campers and camp classroom dynamics and assisting in the management of camp staff for the second year of the Bell Museum’s Grand Rapids summer camp pilot program in 2023.  The Camp Coordinator will occasionally assist the Lead Educator with co-facilitating educational experiences centered on environmental science, natural history, and agriculture for children entering 2nd – 6th grade. This camp is a collaborative effort between the Bell Museum and the North Central Research and Outreach Center (NCROC) and is located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. In addition to camp hours, there are opportunities to work additional hours (part time or full time) as an agricultural research assistant on the NCROC campus. We are looking for individuals to join our team who are inspired by our mission to ignite curiosity and wonder, explore our connections to nature and the universe, and create a better future for our evolving world. We believe that difference is a strength and are looking for candidates that reflect and respect diversity.
